 Used to measure water transparency or light transmission. Transparency depends on the turbidity of water (that water mixed with a variety of plankton and turbidity caused by suspended solids level) and chrominance (caused by suspended organisms and dissolved organic matter the color.) When used to plug in the sink to the disc's just not see the depth of maximum transparency in order to calibrate the water quality.
